FAQ - Hardlock, Softlock & Test License

General

What is the difference between Hardlock and Softlock licenses?

  • Hardlock (USB Dongle): The license is tied to the USB dongle and independent of hardware or OS. No re-licensing required after system changes.

  • Softlock (Unlock Code): The license is bound to the OS and hardware. Any change or reinstall causes license loss.

What is the Time-Limited Demo & Developer License?

This license is intended for testing and demonstration only.

  • Validity: The license is valid for a limited period.

  • Usage Duration: Software runs continuously for up to 6 hours, then shuts down automatically.

  • Restart Required: A manual server restart is required to continue usage.

  • Extension: An extension can be requested easily once the license expires.

  • Note for Demos: Always start the server manually before presenting to ensure smooth operation during on-site demos.

  • Cost: The demo license is free of charge and time-limited.

Do I need to renew the license for major updates?
No, the existing license remains valid even for major updates (e.g., a new main version). Re-licensing is not required as long as the license terms remain unchanged.
