FAQ - Hardlock, Softlock & Demo/Developer License
General
Hardlock (USB Dongle): The license is tied to the USB dongle and independent of hardware or OS. No re-licensing required after system changes.
Softlock (Unlock Code): The license is bound to the OS and hardware. Any change or reinstall causes license loss.
This license is intended for testing and demonstration only.
Validity: The license is valid for a limited period.
Usage Duration: Software runs continuously for up to 6 hours, then shuts down automatically.
Restart Required: A manual server restart is required to continue usage.
Extension: An extension can be requested easily once the license expires.
Note for Demos: Always start the server manually before presenting to ensure smooth operation during on-site demos.
Cost: The demo license is free of charge and time-limited.
Softlock
You must send the removal code (from the licensing tool) to receive a new license. *
The Softlock license will be lost and needs to be reissued. Providing the removal code is mandatory. *

No, only a free USB port is needed.
The customer is fully responsible for the safe keeping of the USB dongle. In case of loss or damage, replacement or re-purchase is subject to fees.
